Ingram , 30, was charged in Dakota County with kidnapping and the violation of an order for protection . Ingram has two biological children, but he does not have custody over either, police said. The court ordered him in July to stay away from the children and their home , according to court documents .

On Oct. 30 just before 5:30 p.m., police responded to the mother’s home . The mother was distraught and told police that Ingram took her son and she “was never going to see him again,” the criminal complaint states.The woman said she had just returned home with her boyfriend and her two children when Ingram tried to take both kids, police said. He picked up one child and put him in the front passenger seat of his car, but the second child successfully refused, according to authorities .The woman and her boyfriend yelled at him, but Ingram yelled back ” I want my kids” and left in his car with the child. Police tracked Ingram ’s cell phone to a place in Minneapolis, where they found him and the boy, the criminal complaint said. The boy was safely returned to his mother, according to police .
