Tubi has secured U.S. digital rights to the 2022 FIFA World Cup
FOX Sports is the exclusive American broadcaster of the World Cup, and the local stations and FOX channel will air 35 matches during the tournament. After the tournament ends, all 64 matches will be available on Tubi. Users can watch matches on their favorite devices using the free Tubi app or through Chromecast and Playstation 4 or 5. In addition, the free Tubi app can be installed on televisions from many manufacturers, including Amazon Fire TV, Google Nest, Comcast Xfinity X1, Vizio, and more.
The 2022 World Cup will begin Nov. 20 and run through Dec. 18, and will be broadcast on Fox and FS1. It will be available on all major streaming platforms, including Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, and DirecTV. In addition to traditional TV and streaming devices, the 2022 World Cup will be available on Tubi, Hulu, and other streaming platforms.
Tubi has secured the digital rights to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be broadcast live in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The 2022 World Cup will be the first winter edition since 1930, and all 32 teams will try to reach the Final on Dec. 18. Tubi will also air the matches on its network and on the U.S. website.
The acquisition also gives Tubi the opportunity to leverage an emerging audience and monetise it in a new and exciting way. The company has doubled its monthly active user base and expanded its ad-supported content from 100 to 150 channels. Many of its channels are local news channels and sports networks. Additionally, it offers a variety of movies and TV series, as well as news.
The new streaming service will also feature the entire tournament, with NBC-owned Peacock slated to broadcast all 64 matches live. Additionally, it will feature exclusive content for Spanish-speaking viewers. And, as a bonus, the company will offer live soccer commentary for its live streaming service.
The network will also air all 64 matches from the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. In addition to this, the USMNT will be included in the group stage. This will be its first appearance in the World Cup since 1986. The USMNT will face England in their return to the world’s biggest stage.
BeIN Sports has media broadcasting rights in MENA
Al Jazeera Sports was established in 2003 and rebranded as beIN SPORTS MENA in January 2014. Since its launch, the network has added media broadcasting rights for many premium sports, including the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League, LaLiga, and Ligue 1. The network also provides content in English, French, and Spanish. In addition to sports, beIN also broadcasts movies, general entertainment, factual shows, and kids programming. A recent announcement from the company is that they will also broadcast the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
The deal also includes the exclusive media rights to Asian Football Confederation competitions for up to 2032. The network will cover AFC tournaments in 17 MENA countries. Additionally, the network will have non-exclusive rights to broadcast the competition in six countries. The AFC has also said that it is “delighted” to partner with beIN.
The network also has media rights to domestic football leagues in the region. Currently, it has agreements with beIN Sports in the UAE, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. MENA’s domestic football leagues are seeing significant increases over the last decade. This is due to the governments’ push for the growth of the sport in MENA countries, like Saudi Arabia. However, this does not mean that media rights in the region will recover to their previous value.
BeIN Sports has also secured media broadcasting rights for the ONE Championship. The deal marks the first such agreement for the region. The deal will see ONE’s international tournaments broadcasted in Arabic and English. The agreement will also include dedicated social media content.
Another recent deal is a three-year deal with the German Bundesliga. The rights include all 306 league matches, the German Super Cup, and even social media clips. However, the relationship between the two companies has been rocky. BeIN has previously complained to the World Trade Organization about Saudi Arabia’s blocking of their broadcasts.
Viacom18 has media broadcasting rights in India
Viacom18 has been awarded media broadcasting rights for various sports leagues in India. The company is currently working to launch a dedicated sports channel, but it has yet to unveil details. However, it has made some interesting hires in recent months. One of these is Amit Kumar Sinha, who has worked for several major companies and has over 15 years of experience. He will be responsible for the pricing and revenue strategy of the network.
Viacom18 may have to raise ad rates after the IPL to break even. However, the company must prove its value to advertisers. The ad rates for IPL games are already very high and may have to rise even further. Furthermore, without a clear proof of how effective their advertising campaigns are, advertisers are not likely to spend huge amounts on the channel. Hence, performance advertising will probably be the way to go for Viacom18.
Viacom18 has also secured media broadcasting rights for other sports. The company recently signed a seven-year deal with Cricket South Africa, which will allow them to air all home international matches played in South Africa. The deal will cover both men and women’s cricket. It also has a ten-year deal with the SA20 T20 league.
Viacom18 has secured the media broadcasting rights for the 2027 edition of the World Cup. The rights for 410 matches will cost INR 44,075 crore. Viacom18 has also acquired the digital rights for the Indian subcontinent. This deal was also backed by Reliance, which helped it win the rights.
Viacom has also secured the media broadcasting rights for the Indian Premier League. The company expects to get about 600 million viewers per year with the new deal. The deal is considered the crown jewel for the content pipeline of Viacom18. Moreover, the company recently acquired the media broadcasting rights for the next five-year cycle of 2023-2027.
In addition to the media broadcasting rights for the Indian leagues, Viacom18 has also secured the media rights for the Abu Dhabi T10 League. It will telecast the matches on Colors and Rishtey Cineplexes. In addition, the league matches will be aired on Voot and Jio platforms, which further enhances the Viacom18’s entertainment offering.
Telemundo Deportes has exclusive Spanish-language U.S. multi-platform rights to the 2022 FIFA World Cup
Telemundo Deportes, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, has acquired the U.S. multiplatform media rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This deal will allow Telemundo to carry all 64 games live. The network will also offer extensive highlights. Telemundo Deportes will broadcast all four games on Thanksgiving Day, as well as eight matches on Matchday 3.
The agreement with NBCUniversal will allow Telemundo to cover FIFA games in Spanish. In addition to the soccer tournament, Telemundo Deportes will also carry the Olympics through 2032. And in the near future, it will host Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles. The network will broadcast the game from SoFi Stadium. Unlike previous Super Bowls, the event will be broadcast in Spanish on a multiplatform network. Furthermore, the network will have exclusive Spanish-language rights to Sunday Night Football in the United States for the next 13 seasons.
In addition to the FIFA World Cup, Telemundo will also have the rights to the 2022 Summer Olympic Games. The agreement will allow Telemundo to broadcast the games in Spanish on its digital platforms. Additionally, the network is the number one producer of scripted Spanish-language content in the U.S., with its Telemundo Television Studios and Underground Producciones producing a diverse range of Spanish-language content. Additionally, the network is launching a new content brand called Tplus, which will feature original content for the entire Hispanic audience.
The deal also brings a plethora of new features and a robust digital strategy for the broadcasting of the competition. For one, Telemundo will simulstream all 64 matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Spanish on Peacock, its direct-to-consumer streaming service. Peacock will also offer hours of live pre and post-match coverage from the host country of Qatar. Peacock subscribers can watch the first twelve games for free on the free tier. The subscription-based streaming service will offer 52 games beginning Nov. 24.
In addition to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Telemundo Deportes will also air a series of dramas about Mexican drug trafficking. El Senor de los Cielos will follow the life of a drug trafficker named Teresa Mendoza, who once owned one of the most successful drug trafficking organizations in Spain. But eight years later, Teresa’s past catches up with her and she must return to her drug-fueled past.
